In this article, we will review the process of syncing your phone numbers in your Contact Center system.
Syncing numbers between your Contact Center System and your Ytel API account is something you will do time from time whenever you purchase new phone numbers directly through app.ytel.com to be utilized in your Contact Center System.
What are Number Sets?
Number sets are a group of numbers that share a common connection that defines how inbound calls and inbound SMS are routed. Within your contact center system, you have a default number set called "Contact Center". All phone numbers that are associated with this number set will ensure that any inbound calls placed to those numbers will be routed to your Contact Center system.
Generally speaking, any new numbers you may purchase within the API PORTAL will need to be added to the "Contact Center" number set if you wish to utilize those numbers within your contact center system.
Why would I "sync" my numbers?
Reasons to "Sync" your numbers if you...
- recently purchased new numbers in the app.ytel.com (Ytel API portal).
- recently made changes to your existing numbers and their number sets within app.ytel.com (Ytel API portal)
Step by Step Guide:
Step 1: Log into your Contact Center Account
Log into your Admin Contact Center system portal with your admin account. The login page can be accessed by clicking the button below.
Step 2: Navigate to the Ytel API Numbers Section
Navigate to the Ytel API section within the Admin portal. You must be a Super Admin in order to access this page. Click the button below to jump directly to the number section (you must already have logged into your account for the button to work).
Step 3: Press the "Sync" button located at the top right of your screen
On the top right section of your browser, you will see a "sync" button. When pressed, this will bring up a new window that will ask you to select the Number Set(s) you wish to import into your contact center system.
Step 4: Select the Number Set(s) you wish to import into your contact center system
Select the Number Set(s) you wish to import into your contact center system. Keep in mind that each number set is a "group" of numbers. Unless you have a custom setup, then you will ALWAYS select "Contact Center" as your number set.
Step 5: Type "SYNC" and then press the sync button to complete the sync
Step 6: Done!
